Dried Flower Wreath FAQs
Real answers to the questions our customers ask most. If you can't find what you need below, drop us a line at hello@door-wreaths.co.uk and we'll come back to you within one working day.
How long do dried flower wreaths last?
Our handmade dried flower wreaths last 1-3 years on display with proper care, and many customers store theirs between seasons to bring back out for several years. Keep them out of direct sunlight, away from rain and high humidity, and avoid hanging them in steamy spaces — those three habits cover almost all longevity concerns.
Can I hang my dried flower wreath outside on my front door?
Yes — but with one important caveat. Dried wreaths are perfect for covered front doors, porches, and storm-door interiors where they get the visual benefit of being outside but are protected from direct rain and prolonged UV. A south-facing exposed door in a wet UK winter will shorten the life of any dried wreath. North-facing or covered porches keep wreaths looking fresh for full seasons.
How are your wreaths made and where?
Every wreath is handmade in our Hampshire workshop by Danny, Sarah, Lauren, Lucy, Hannah and Kerys. We work with carefully selected dried and preserved botanicals — pampas grass, lavender, eucalyptus, hydrangeas, peonies, dried roses, statice, and seasonal stems — building each wreath layer by layer on a willow or vine base. Nothing is mass-produced, nothing is templated, and every wreath is genuinely unique.
How do I care for my dried flower wreath?
Dried wreaths are wonderfully low-maintenance. Keep them dry, keep them out of direct sunlight, and dust occasionally with a soft brush or hairdryer on cool low setting. Avoid water, cleaning sprays, and steamy environments. See our complete dried flower wreath care guide for full instructions.
What size wreath should I order for my front door?
For a standard UK front door, 30-40cm diameter wreaths work best — they're visible from across the street without overwhelming the door. Larger statement doors (Victorian, Georgian, double-width) suit 40-50cm wreaths. For interior wall display, smaller 25-30cm wreaths often look better at close-up viewing distance. See our wreath size guide for detailed recommendations.
Do you ship throughout the UK?
Yes — we ship to all UK addresses including Northern Ireland, Scotland, and the Channel Islands. Most orders ship within 1-2 working days from our Hampshire workshop. UK standard delivery is typically 2-4 working days; next-day delivery is available at checkout. International orders are not currently available.
What if my wreath arrives damaged?
We pack every wreath carefully in a custom-sized box with tissue support, but if your wreath arrives damaged, contact us within 48 hours with photos at hello@door-wreaths.co.uk and we'll arrange a replacement or refund. See our returns and refunds policy for full details.
Can I order a custom or bespoke wreath?
Yes — we accept bespoke commissions for weddings, corporate gifts, and special occasions. Send us your colour palette, size requirements, and any specific stem preferences via the contact form and we'll come back with a quote and lead time. Bespoke orders typically take 2-4 weeks from approval.
Are your wreaths suitable as gifts?
Absolutely — they're one of our most popular gift categories. Each wreath ships in a presentation box with a handwritten card option at checkout. We can ship directly to the recipient with a personalised message — perfect for housewarmings, birthdays, anniversaries, sympathy gifts, and Christmas presents.
Are dried flower wreaths a sustainable choice?
Significantly more sustainable than fresh imported wreaths or plastic artificial wreaths. Our wreaths are made from natural botanicals — sourced UK and European where possible — on biodegradable willow or vine bases. No plastic foam, no plastic stems, no air-freight. At end of life, every component composts back to soil. We also use minimal recyclable packaging and natural twine.
